Fairer skin is more beautiful.

Skin care ads on TV are always promoting products that promotes fairer skin. It seems from TV ads that darker skin or anything that is not fair enough is always less attractive.

I find this quite strange really. Here I am a fully-grown straight man admiring the female species in all kinds of shades and colour and yet here I am watching TV everyday being psychoed by major skin care manufacturers to like fair skin ladies more. What is it with people who seem to prefer fairer skin?

To be honest when I was growing up it's easy to relate to peers who had a fair skin is better looking, I watched a massive amount of time on TV and the ads all have the same thing going on. That does not in anyway make me feel insecure about myself, but it does shape a lot of people perceptions about other people.

So, ok. I'm not fair-skined and no I'm not jealous. Seriously, I like my skin. It's bewildering though when someone actually says "You know you'll look better if your fairer?" or another statement I've heard is "I want to marry a guy with fair skin cause I want my baby's to look good".

Why? Why would it make anyone look better if they’re fairer? I would think if someone would to have beautiful skin, be it Glowing Yellow, Sexy Tan, Creamy white, Mystified Black they would all be beautiful. Right?

Being beautiful is all about being comfortable and carrying oneself with confidence. Good grooming and taking care of oneself is good way to being beautiful and it has nothing to do with being fairer (note: Please watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy). Whether oneself is fair or dark it's really up to an individual to be and feel beautiful, skin care helps but skin colour has nothing to do with it.

Once people get over that then maybe our world would be a little more interesting to live in. Black, white, yellow, brown people are people. The only thing that makes us beautiful is really our thoughts not our skin colour.

Hi. My name is ATTENTION

Hi,

My name is Attention. I'm the only child of Sir Boasting and Madam Snobbish. Mom and dad decided to stop at one. You know less is better. After all I had greatness painted since the first day I arrived to this world. A second born would be too much, too many leaders they say will only confuse the followers.

Well I'm a regular person but of course a complete human being. I know for a fact that 'normal' people admire my physical and mental finesse. Oh! I'm smart too; to smart for some people and I make sure they know that by putting them down in the most outrageous way.

What makes me so smart? Oh that is easy to answer. I have a great job, though of course the company pays me too little for the work I do. I spent half of my day putting people down, well because they are not efficient. Oh my Lord they are not efficient. You know spend the extra hours investing in their work with research and all, but the thing is they do not understand that with my standards excellence is raised to a whole new level. After all I'm ranked higher then them therefore I'm better. Oh did I mention I'm smarter then an average person? Did I?

Though being all-smart makes me kinda lonely. Yes, when you're too smart people tend to get scared of you. I suffer from that extensively. My dear friends could only stand 1/2 hour talking to me. Oh not because I'm such an ass, no. I do not want to want to call them stupid and all, after all they are my friends.

Love life? My last love ran out on me. Something about feeling overwhelmed by my brain and beauty or something like that. Though I could not understand this person that is supposedly to be in madly love with me (I know this for a fact!!) could just announce the break-up over the phone? Parents don’t teach their children proper manners this days. It was like "I need to break-up with you" then bam!! There goes my love life. 2 weeks and poof!! Well your regret buddy, people like me is hell of a catch!!!!!

I reckon if this is somewhere in the middle-ages I definitely be a prophet or something. You do not think I'm that smart?. Oh I studied in a well respected University. You know, the University where all the established people send their kids too? It’ll cost you an arm and a leg maybe your genitals as well, but hey I’m worth it! Don't let me start about my school. The best school ever!

Look at me and I could speak English so fluently. This is me trying to talk to you in simple English in case you don't understand. Tell me if I'm too fast Geniuses tend to that. You poor bastard. I command automatic respect from everybody , I come from a great bloodline. I know you’ve notice my physical features and would have easily seen the greatness.

You know a lot of people is kinda nice to me. Of course they would be that way. My God smart people like me attracts people instantly, though I got to constantly remind everybody that to hang-out with me you got to be somewhat like me. Remember also that when you're with me I would be the popular one so it’s only appropriate if I relay my apologies in advance. Yeah judging by my job, gosh I supervise people of course I'm a greater person. Though that does not mean you're dumb or something, remember being on my list of favourite friends is already a good achievement. Feel better already?

Ok got to go now. People to meet, time is precious at least my time it is, I honestly could not say much about yours.

So till next time. No hard feelings eh?

Yours sincerely,
Attention

Gay Marriages.

One of the most interesting topics that were raised in the exciting 2004 US Election was the Gay marriages issue.

I've never given much thought of Gay marriages, I am quite curious on my stand on it. Am I against or do I approve of it?

I must admit I do not have much gay friends, most probably none. Well I asked a few guys that looked and acted "Gayish" whether they were gay they simply replied no and while pinching my arm at the same time. I knew a girl who's dating another girl openly. I used to have one Transvestite wanting to be my pet sister (or brother?), but that is another story : -)

Gay marriages. Yes is quite tricky when homosexuality culture is discussed openly. . The popular media regards Homosexuality as a negative culture or to some extent a disease though have never really suggested a cure for Homosexuality. Why? There is no cure it’s not a disease in the first place! Read on.

Sexuality is not something we choose. Nobody grew up and was presented with options on whether they want to shag a woman or a man when they are sexually ready. I knew I was straight when I saw Belinda Carlilse in her video "Circle in the Sand", yes simple as that. I tested myself out of curiosity on whether if I had any Homosexual tendency by focusing on a raunchy Marky Mark Poster, I could confirm I was not aroused only curious on how much work he has to put up to develop those strong abs, jealous perhaps but not aroused. Then of course I got sick in the process.

So no one wants to be anything sexually, it comes naturally. Though I still see people going "How could he/she be Gay, how could they be that way?” Yeah, I use to be like that and at times still am, but that only shows how ignorant some people are (this would include me). Most probably some early education could help this, after all Gay Men and Women are humans too. Being human would only mean that they have feelings too.

Unfortunately this is not something that could be taught in mainstream education. Sadly most people learn about homosexuality in the worse possible medium, pornography (some learn it by listening to prison stories). Hence makes it hard for them to learn and respect it, as the same way some Men could not find it to respect Women as equals.

Most probably this is why Gay marriages is not something acceptable. When we don't respect somebody it's easy to just not bother with his/her rights.

It's hard to agree or not to agree when Gay marriages is discussed. Homosexuality is a sin in most of the main religions and therefore the majority of people and world leaders condemn it. In other words homosexuals has a hard time living their daily life’s in practically any part of the world without being subjected to discrimination.

I could not say I agree or disagree with Gay marriages. In fact I could not care less if two men or women makes a decision to be bonded to each other through thick and thin.

Yes I do not care. Two people who most likely love each other very much should have the option to go and get hitch. After all it seems that a lot of straight people have the same intentions in life is able to do it why would Homosexuals denied their rights? Why not?

So to all Gay couples, I don't think you need anybody's consent for happiness as certainly you don't need mine.

Part Time Studying is killing me.

Watch my daddy in bed a-dyin'
Watched his hair been turnin' grey
He's been workin' and slavin' his life away
Oh yes I know it

He's been workin' so hard, yeah
I've been workin' too, baby, yeah
Every night and day, yeah

The Animals - WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE

It's hard to continue saying to myself "I'll be successful someday you wait and see" when you're studying part-time. My classes is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so by Thursday it's so tiring getting a hard-on would require a massive imagination.. :-D

I travel about 80km a day and my back is aching like an old man on Viagra.

Geez. There is no easy way to life isn’t it? It's shitty being poor and it is sure hard as hell trying for success.

Well maybe this will be for the better some day. A year and 9 months to go, I hope my back and my stubbornness will hold up.

Ain't quittin' till I see me pot of gold.

Review - Election Day

Election Day is a play directed by Krishen Jit, written by Huzir Sulaiman with Jo Kukathas performing solely.

It was my first time watching theater and I was quite excited. After all this is the very few type of entertainment in Malaysia that took 'real' swipes at Malaysian life. I could not depend on movies or dramas on TV to give a real impression so I took it to the theaters in hope that I would again have some confidence that indeed Malaysians had a entertainment medium to enjoy and perhaps get more out of it other than fun alone.

The set-up for the show was minimal. Light bulbs and plastic chairs and that's about it. It was set on the happenings from the 1999 election where In my humble opnion was remembered as one of the most exciting time in our political history. Suddenly everybody has a say about politics, people start to think about what they wanted instead of what they have already had. Those are exciting times and I believed those few months has changed many people's lives and thoughts.

Though called "Election Day" the storyline it did not indulge much on the 1999 Malaysian Elections and was pretty much a a story on how a beautiful girl named Natasha changed the relationship of 3 housemates Francis, Dedric and Fozi. Yes it was. However it does take quick shots at Malaysia's social, culture and local politics during that time. The shots however is never meant to dwell on the details of the 1999 Elections but it does give out funny moments one which is a favourite of mine is when Francis drew comparisons on the difference tactics of campaigning used by the Barisan Alternatif compared to Barisan Nasional.

All in all Jo Kukathas gave a strong impressive performance and I had no complaints, except a question on why do Fozi had such a strong slang? Maybe I missed out a point. Ligthing could be improved, the effect it had on the play was commandable but the lighting sometimes confused viewers (perhaps only me) on the time of day the events is occuring.

Would I watched theater again? RM45 (I'm poor) is quite a hefty price to pay, a cheaper rate is very much welcomed other than that a strong "Yes" would be my answer.

Ace.
